Cisco refuses to let me leave without a fight.

The backpackers pack from hell. Did I pack too much to lug across a continent? Without a doubt. Become stronger or crash out is the ultimate question.

This goes out to the most grueling flight of my life. What happens when I go to Asia or Australia? 13 hours straight from SFO to ZRH made me lose all sense of being a calm plane passenger. My back ached and sleep for whatever reason neglected me. I was even on of the lucky ones who had aisle to get up and pace like my dad taking a phone call.

Black Widow

I spotted this Black Widow that rode into our yard on a tomato plant.  At first dad didn’t  believe we had a Black Widow in our yard but there is no mistaking the red hour-glass shape on her belly.

The Black Widow helped keep the insect population down in our yard.Black Widow spiders are nocturnal and need to avoid predators during the day like this canyon wren that my dad photographed in Texas.
